We are launching Polis —ParaState’s Incentivised Community Initiative for thousands of people to interact with ParaState, build and advance ParaState’s communities, challenge our technology’s capabilities, and participate in provocative initiatives that will stress test our network for experimental purposes.

Join Polis today, or read below to learn more about the program:

What is Polis?

Polis was designed to:

🧪 Test ParaState’s protocol environment

🐛 Identify potential vulnerabilities

👪 Build an active community of ambassadors for ParaState

🧑🏿‍💻 Gather feedback from developers

🖥️ Set-up and onboard a vast number of nodes, which will later be ready to transition onto Mainnet Staking

💰 Reward members willing to go the extra mile by taking on leadership roles in our community, such as thought leaders, researchers, marketers, and ambassadors

How can you participate?

🗓️ Duration: The duration of the program is three months: April to June 2021

Applications will be open throughout the whole duration of the program and evaluated on a rolling basis. Participants who want to make the most of the program’s experience and rewards need to submit their application by April 15th, 2021.

There are several paths to participate:

Evangelist:

Get hands-on and play with the network. This role is ideal for communities and individuals with an established network in the blockchain community. You need to dive deep into the ParaState white paper and technical details, gain insights into the core competency of ParaState, understand the advantages and key areas of differentiation from other benchmark projects, and host online/offline meetups for ParaState in your local community.

Evangelists organise bi-weekly initiatives and participate and represent ParaState in local communities, including events. You might already have a meetup group. You may have participated as a speaker in events. Note that organizing a meetup will require you to do your research on the topics you want to discuss. ParaState is here to help and happy to provide resources should you need them.

Typical Tasks of Evangelists:

Share updates in a timely fashion

Retweet/comment/engage in ParaState’s social channels

Advocate ParaState on Reddit and other communities

Conduct developer outreach

Organise educational workshops

Introduce ParaState to local communities that you are involved in

Citizens:

A big part of this experiment is unlocking ideas and resources lying untapped within our community. Suppose you’ve previously considered running a node for a Proof of Stake blockchain but thought it was too technical or expensive. In that case, this is an excellent opportunity to receive guidance from experts to help you onboard.

As part of this role, you can earn rewards for the following tasks, but we encourage “Citizens” to be creative and suggest their contributions:

  • Create and share content
  • Engage in social networks
  • Produce content related to ParaState
  • Support new node operators
  • Oversee community management

Spartans:

Run a node, deploy a smart contract on the testnet, identify a bug, build a better explorer. You are the guard of the ParaState Polis.

We want to make sure that everyone is rewarded for their contribution to ParaState’s success. Spartans are also developers who will help port dApps from different chains on ParaState, claim documentation work, create video tutorials, and engage by supporting the technical community.

The total budget of the Polis Program exceeds $100,000 in rewards!

$50k allocated to Spartans, $30k to Evangelists, and $20k to Citizens!

A further breakdown of rewards will be announced with the launch of the program.

Rewards

A fundamental belief of the Polis Program is that ParaState communities should be rewarded for contributing to the progress of the ecosystem.

There are three ways this will occur in the Polis Program: one-time “Coins”, ongoing “Continuing Rewards”, and “Castle” rewards.

Coins apply to one-off activities, such as bounties that a Polis representative can claim within a fixed period. Polis participants will have first preference to execute bounties rewarded by ParaState. These are centred around engaging community members to participate in the ParaState ecosystem.

In other words, these rewards reflect how engaged Polis members are, how active they are in core ecosystem activities like developing dApps or running nodes, and how many one-time rewards they have collected along the way.

Finally, the Castle rewards provide a ranking of the top 3 participants based on their growth and effectiveness.

Typical Castle Rewards: (Not extensive list)

Evangelists

  • Receive Guaranteed Allocation in future ParaState token offerings
  • Receive monthly remuneration to support ParaState’s marketing exposure
  • Receive Introduction Rewards for connections you bring onboard

Citizens

  • Are offered a position on ParaState’s Marketing Team
  • Receive Guaranteed Allocation in future ParaState token offerings
  • Receive Token Rewards for supporting outreach activities

Spartans

  • Operate a node in the early days of the network
  • Are offered a position on ParaState’s Dev Team
  • Are awarded a contract to implement a dev task or bounty
  • Receive monthly remuneration for scaling developer communities
  • Receive Guaranteed Allocation in future ParaState token offerings

Additional perks will work their way into the Polis Program over time. Thus, incentives will be adjusted to make sure that’s the case.

All rewards will be distributed in $STATE tokens after KYC/AML.
